NEW 11/7/08: Phoenix Photos have been uploaded in the Photo Album. If you'd like your photos to be included as well - email me so we can figure out how to get them to me. Unfortunately I will not be at the November 11 concert due to Evan's induction to the National Honor Society that evening, so I can't get them from you then. ~Belinda

A few business items/reminders about our trip to Phoenix:

  1. Music Folders - We will collect all music folders after rehearsal Monday night.  If you don't already have copies of your music at home and would like copies to use before Phoenix, please email Wendi and she can email your parts to you (remember to tell her which part(s) you'll need).
  2. Cargo Van - Roy will load the cargo van at the church on Wednesday afternoon between 3:30 and 4:30.  If you are sending your instrument on the cargo van and wish to leave it with Roy after rehearsal Monday night, you may do so.
  3. Uniforms - Remember that you need your full uniform, including long tie and overseas cap.  If you are missing any items, please contact Roy ASAP!
  4. Rehearsal in Phoenix - We will have a dress rehearsal Friday night from 6-7 pm in the Symphony Hall.  The bus will leave the hotel at 5:30.  As always, CHECK THE BAND BOARD for any updates or schedule changes.
  5. Inspection Routine - Some of you have requested another opportunity to walk through the inspection routine.  We may schedule a refresher while in Phoenix.  Please check the band board.
  6. Performance - Performance time is 1:50 on Saturday.  Inspection will be at 1:20.  The band board will have reporting times and other details.  We cannot be certain, but I would anticipate that we will be done with everything, including the awards ceremony, around 4:00.  Three bands are competing this year - Tonawanda, Joliet, and us.

FYI: Current TSA Baggage Restrictions List

Itinerary
September 18
Thursday
Crown Center
12:45 call; 1:30 downbeat. Full uniform.
The ceremony will be in the park, and the nearest identifiable location (given the park's dimensions) is that it will be close to the intersection of Main Street and Pershing Road. I also identify the park as across the street (north) from the Crown Center Hotel. Parking will quite likely be a problem. On-street parking on Pershing Road, Grand Avenue or Main Street will be at a premium or more likely nonexistent. There is parking available just across Main Street in the Union Station surface lot which fronts on Pershing Road, but I don't know the exact cost (it's not free). Parking is also available at Crown Center Parking Garage - and your ticket can likely be validated at any Crown Center shop.
